DATES INCLUDED (8 December 2025 – 15 February 2026) These measures, agreed to provide extra daytime Respiratory & Acute Clinics during the busiest winter months.

Registrars can use the GP Winter surge towards their OOH with maximum 20 hours of their 120 hours.

What Your Practice Needs to Do

· Firstly fill in the acceptance form to indicate interest (above)

· Run 10 extra 2-hour Respiratory/Acute Clinics over the winter period

· Run one clinic each week

· Clinics must take place outside normal surgery hours

· Each clinic must include at least six GMS/DVC consultations

When Clinics Can Be Scheduled

You can hold clinics during these time slots:

· Monday–Friday: 7am–9am

· Monday–Friday: 5pm–7pm

· Saturday or Sunday: 9am–1pm

If your surgery normally closes at 6pm, you can run clinics from 6pm–8pm on weekdays.

Weekly Requirements

· Each week, practices must update patients—starting with a notice on the practice website (you can also use reception notices, SMS, or social media). Click HERE for template for your website or poster for your waiting room

· Every Monday, practices must email the HSE with that week’s clinic times: gp.agreement@hse.ie

Payments

· €41.63 per GMS consultation during these clinics

· €3,000 for single-handed practices

· €2,500 per GMS GP for group practices (Paid once all ten clinics are completed)

Extra Income

GPs taking part can also claim the same STC rate for other in-person respiratory or acute consultations provided in the early-morning or evening time windows—even if a formal clinic isn’t scheduled.

How to Claim

· Submit claims through the PCRS portal as normal

· Aim to submit within 3–5 days

· Patient signature is absolutely required

· Digital signatures are accepted
